School...houses...jobs...BLAH

Well...I am about 90% sure I will most likely be staying in Birmingham after graduation. I'm disappointed that I don't get to move back, but it's probably for the best. Many of the Birmingham schools are still hiring and Mobile seems to have nothing! South's Medschool is being stupid and didn't even give Thame an interview, so USASOM is out of the question for this year...but he still has a chance with UAB. I just feel like I am supposed to be in Birmingham right now...and I am okay with it...I will get back to Mobile eventually!!!

I'm currently hunting for a new place to live and it is very frustrating!!! This place is just too expensive for us right now and we need something cheaper! I really want somewhere with hardwood floors! This whole carpet and yorkie thing aren't meshing well! I'm really interested in a townhome, but they are all in bad locations or way old! ugh! Anyway....hopefully I will be able to find something soon...my lease runs up May 31.

I'm also trying to find a job for this summer...and fall of course! I'm applying to a job at the Birmingham Zoo! They are looking for teachers for their summer camp program and I really hope I get it...it seems like it would be a fun experience! I have my interview day with the Jefferson County Board of Ed. on April 1st (Thame's bday, by the way!) and hopefully they will like me!! It's an all day thing...I get to pick who I want to interview with...they have to give me an interview...they are like 15 min long and then if they like me they will ask me back the next day for a more thorough interview! I really hope I am able to find a job! It would take such a load off...

Spring break is almost over and it has been WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These next few weeks, however, are going to be insane. I have to babysit everyday for the next 3 weeks, student teach all day, complete my assignments, find a job, find a new place to live, and survive! BUT, only 50 days till graduation!!!!

How is everyone's bracket doing??? Thame has gotten me hooked in March madness! I'm not doing soooo bad...I have 170 points. Western Kentucky killed me!!! And...Tennessee just lost :(

Can't catch a break!

I'm sick again!!! Imagine that!!!! I caught whatever Thame had, but i'm thinking I might have brought it home from school in the first place. I have had a 100.7-101 fever since yesterday and medicine doesn't seem to help it much. I'm coughing like crazy!! I don't know what it is, but hopefully it will be gone soon. I just hope I don't have to miss tomorrow. I am teaching my full days now...and it is very tiring. Its not so much the teaching, but the classroom management part of it. I feel like I yell at them all day, but they just don't listen!! Ugh! Usually I don't yell, I just kind of talk to them privately and tell them to stop, but the other day my patience was shot and you could hear a pen drop in that room! Hahaha! Their faces were like..."woah! she really can yell!" Made me laugh...anyway. Hope everyone is staying well...I sure hope this is almost over!

I have a cute video to share as well...Thame was playing playstation and their was a airplane flying across the screen and Lexie was trying to attack it! It was too funny!

Just an update!

69 days- till GRADUATION!!! I cannot believe it! This semester is going by so fast...maybe because I don't feel like i'm in school anymore? It feels like I have a teaching job already, but then I remember oh wait, i'm not getting paid! Student teaching is going so well...I am so lucky to have gotten a good school and cooperating teacher. A lot of my friends got stuck with teachers who are rude to them or who are not letting them do any teaching. My kids are great...they wear me out, but they are so sweet! With student teaching and nannying going on, I just don't have time for a whole lot anymore...I am worn out!! I slept for 11 hours last night and still feel like I could sleep for a few more hours. This is the first weekend in a while that I can just lay around and it's so nice. I start my full day teaching on Monday for the next two weeks. I will be doing everything by myself...my teacher has already said to pretend she is not there and that the students are not to ask her anything. I am excited and nervous at the same time, I haven't taught math yet and we are doing fractions so i'm a little worried that they won't understand. We shall seeeeee.....!

13 days- till Spring Break!! I am so excited! We are going to the beach for the first weekend of spring break with a bunch of friends. Yay! I hope its warm...but I am not expecting it to be. Then I am going to hang out in Mobile for a few days and visit. A whole week of no school or nannying will be nice.

Anyway, i'm sorry for not updating more regularly, but I hardly have time for anything right now. I promise I will try to update again sooner rather than later! :)

Can you say busy!!!?

Wow! I haven't posted in a while! Sorry about that...

First, I want to say PLEASE leave me messages! I really really love hearing from y'all!

Okay, well student teaching is going great!! I'm in my 5th week already! It is really going by fast and I am surprised by how much I am loving it! I am teaching 3 lessons a day now and all the planning is keeping me VERY busy. Plus, don't forget I nanny before and after school most days. I have also been MIA because of the flu or something like it....I am just now getting over whatever I had 2 weeks ago. It was NOT fun! And now the stomach bug is going around school, so I am just waiting to get that one. The joys of being a teacher! My students are great and they keep my laughing all the time. They say the craziest things...I can't remember anything off the top of my head right now, but trust me I am writing these things down.

Anyway, I am so ready for summer. The weather has been a bit warmer up here and it is such a tease! I cannot wait to go to the beach and wear short sleeves........ughhhh only one month till Spring Break, so I guess that will do!

Going to bed!! I'm exhausted!

Love you all!!

So far...

BE prepared for a LOOOONG post!

Sorry for the lack of updates! I am LOVING Rocky Ridge!!! My teacher is great and the kids are all so sweet! I will have to scan in some of the letters they wrote me for y'all to read...they are hilarious! I had a big "Welcome Miss Schneider" sign to greet me when I walked in the classroom! So sweet!! I have 9 boys and 4 girls and let me tell you those boys are a hand full! They mostly have normal names, unlike my inner-city kids! Thank goodness!!! I do have one kid named Mooaweya (Moo-OW-e-uh). Yes, you read that right. His family is from Palestine...he is too cute! My cooperating teacher is great, she is very helpful and SO funny! All I am doing right now is observing and helping out as needed and I start teaching Language Arts next week. I have the whole unit layed out for me which is SO great! The book she gave me even has like a script of what I am supposed to be saying as I teach it...YAY! Anyway, my nanny job is going good too...it's very very busy, but Bayona is the sweetest thing ever. Poor thing is pretty sick right now, so grandma is keeping her!

My poor Lexie got spayed yesterday. They had complications during the surgery with anesthesia, though, and said she never would breathe right and were REALLY worried about her and said they she scared them that she wasn't going to make it. UM, really do you have to tell me that if she's okay now. THANKS!!!!! UGH! I took her in originally cause she had some weird lumps in her belly and it was very swollen. They told me that she may have a tumor or it could just be her hormones as she would probably be going into heat any day, but he didn't know. The vet biopsyed that area and said he would decide if he wanted to send it off when she came back to get her staples removed. But, she is home now and is very calm and quiet (not my Lexie...poor baby!) Anyway, now that I have talked y'alls heads off!

Read the letters below...they are great!!!! Haha! Kids are hilarious...keep in mind they are 8/9 years old. I hope you all are staying warm and doing great!! It snowed off and on here today! Love y'all!

CLICK ON THEM TO MAKE THEM LARGER TO READ! The bottom 2 letters are from the same person (it's 2 pages...she decided to tell me her life story! haha)

just an update...

Well...it's back to the real world for me! I have been super busy the past week since I started my nanny job and school stuff. Getting up at 5 every morning is getting a little better and is not as hard as I thought it was gonna be, but I would much rather be still asleep! Bayona is too cute and so much fun, but I feel like a soccer mom carpooling her around everywhere! At least she is somewhat easy to drag everywhere with me! She even cries when I drop her off at daycare and leave their house in the afternoon...I guess cause I keep her entertained? She's a cutie! Anyways, I had orientation this past week and learned a lot of overwhelming information, but i'm excited to begin student teaching. I start this Wednesday! I will let you know how my first day goes! I did talk to my cooperating teacher and she said that before Christmas break she had 14 students and that one moved away over the break...so I only have 13 students which is AMAZING!!!! Most schools have like 20-25 kids in each class! Anyway, things are good here and I hope everyone is doing wonderful!!

P.S. Leave me comments! I know y'all read this...so talk to me! :)
